The Degustus organic extra virgin olive oil from the La Granadella Cooperative has been awarded the Extra Gold medal at the prestigious BIOL 2025 competition, held in Italy. In addition, both this and the Degustus extra virgin olive oil have been selected to be part of the Iber Oleum 2025 guide , the reference publication at the national level that annually compiles the best extra virgin olive oils in Spain.
The BIOL award is one of the world's leading competitions in the assessment of the quality of extra virgin olive oils produced under organic farming criteria. In this 30th edition, it has had 500 participants from 18 different nationalities. The jury of the competition, made up of an international selection of expert tasters, has recognized the Degustus organic for its quality and has positioned it among the best organic oils in the world.
As for the Iber Oleum 2025 guide, Degustus and Degustus organic extra virgin olive oil have been included after a panel of professional tasters evaluated their fruitiness, bitterness, spiciness, balance and complexity. It should be noted that in the previous edition, Degustus Premium was already part of this publication.
These awards add to the cooperative's upward trajectory and reinforce its commitment to quality and innovation. In this regard, the president of the La Granadella Cooperative, Ramon Barrull , highlights that "this award and inclusion in Iber Oleum are a double recognition of the rigorous work we do from the field to obtaining the extra virgin olive oil". "In addition, they position us as benchmarks in sustainable and ecological production and are an incentive to continue betting on quality and the territory", he added.
Degustus and Degustus organic extra virgin olive oil are made from Arbequina olives from the members in the cooperative's mill, equipped with state-of-the-art technology that allows the time between harvest and milling to be optimized, thus ensuring the quality of the product obtained.
